little wicked women

little wicked women is a recent recording of a song written by jarrod whaley in or around 1996. on a drunken evening at the "fly pad," an apartment whaley shared at that time with bandmates damien crisp and jesse courtney, whaley improvised this song for the benefit of a crappy two-track recorder, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar.

it is a fucking silly song.

when whaley decided to include this song in the amaranth, he thought it might be fun to arrange the song for a full rock band and re-record it for the film.

upon recording it and dropping it into the mix, however, he discovered that his ridiculously clean (and frankly, somewhat overproduced) new recording did not fit the scene quite as well as the old, sloppy, 1996 recording did. So he used the old recording in the film, and now gives you the new recording here.

listen to it. feel the sounds. let it seem as if it is you to whom whaley croons (and shreds).

acoustic guitar, processed acoustic guitar, faux drum kit from reconstituted samples, and vocals by the whaley.
